Canine Cough (also known as "Kennel Cough") is a term loosely used to describe a complex of infections—both viral and bacterial—that cause inflammation of a dog’s voice box and windpipe. It’s a form of bronchitis and is similar to a chest cold in humans. Bordetella is the vaccination given to help prevent kennel cough, but even vaccinated dogs can catch a strain of the virus not covered by the vaccine.
Canine Influenza is the "dog flu" and vaccination is REQUIRED. Due to outbreaks across the country, the vaccine is sometimes in short supply. Please check with your vet and have your pet vaccinated as soon as possible.
****** IMPORTANT******
Sometimes, despite everyone's best efforts, even vaccinated dogs will come down with a cough or cold. Just like kids attending day care or summer camp, it is a risk you take anytime your pet is around other dogs. Canine Country Club cannot be held liable for veterinary care should an illness occur.
In an effort to maintain the healthiest environment possible, we have installed two Rensair air filtration systems in the kennel. These hospital-grade units have a unique combination of HEPA and UVC filtration that traps and destroys particles, viruses and bacteria. They will completely filter, purify and replace the air in the kennel every 34 minutes.
