Canine Cough and Canine Influenza

Canine Cough, or "Kennel Cough", is a general term used to describe a number of viral or bacterial illnesses that cause a cough in dogs.  The severity varies by virus or infection.  The Bordetella vaccine helps to protect your pet from Canine Cough, but even vaccinated pets can catch a strain of the illness that the vaccine does not cover.  

Canine Influenza is the "dog flu" and vaccination is required.  Due to outbreaks across the country, the vaccine is in short supply at times.   Please check with your vet and have your pet vaccinated as soon as possible.

Sometimes, despite everyone's best efforts, even vaccinated dogs will come down with a cough or cold.   Just like kids attending day care or summer camp, it is a risk you take anytime your pet is around other dogs.  Canine Country Club cannot be held liable for veterinary care should an illness occur.
