The Backstory

If there is one thing James loves more than horses, it's his dogs. All 16 of them.

You see, James' parents wouldn't let him bring his little dog, Molly, into the house when he was a kid.  He built her a nice dog house, put lots of warm hay inside and a curtain over the door to knock the wind off during the cold winter nights, but he still worried about her.  He swore that when he grew up that he'd have lots of dogs and let them all in the house and even let them sleep with him.  And so he did.  To date we are the proud parents of 16 canine companions and one brave barn cat.

James Hale Stables

The stable was constructed in 1997, so we've been a part of the Chelsea/Columbiana community for over 20 years.  In 2016 we decided to scale back our American Saddlebred horse training operation and converted 1/2 the main barn into the kennel.  We officially opened Canine Country Club in February, 2017.

James's wife, Jackie, is also an animal lover and rescue advocate.  She handles the front desk management, marketing and social media.  Jackie serves as Vice President of the Shelby County Humane Society Board of Directors and is also Vice President and a Founding Director of Equine Sports Council, a national non-profit organization for horse shows.
